Narrative

On this page you will find a living document that chronicles the rich history of my forces.  Major players in the story are obviously my own armies, friends and community members that have a desire to participate, but also colleagues at work, and even students in our school’s club that I run.  I find this telling of the history helps add a dimension of the game that makes results more compelling, more meaningful.  It is only through the shared passion of the hobby with those I interact with (yes, that includes you!) that this is possible.  So thank you.

Sanctus Fraternus, an Imperial shrine world that sits within the Imperium Nihilus, is home to many sprawling hive cities and labyrinthine complexes built in honor of the myriad saints and devotees of the Emperor that rest there.  Governed by the Adeptus Ministorum and a contingent of Adepta Sororitas, it is a shining beacon of light in the darkness that engulfed the region following the cataclysmic events of Abaddon’s 13th Crusade.  The planetary system is not without its own significant dangers, however.

The planet is home to a large native Ork population, who is kept in check by fanatically loyal planetary defense forces and the Order of the Valorous Heart, who themselves maintain a fortress-convent in the desolate northern plains.  The resolute garrison has been silently relieved in recent events to see a significant Astartes crusade make Sanctus Fraternus its base of operations while on campaign.  Led by Captain Darnath Lysander, a combined crusade of Imperial Fists and Blood Angels have established a stronghold on the planet in order to strike out against chaotic incursion in the surrounding Segmentum Obscurus.  Several Cadian regiments, who were diverted to Sanctus Fraternus at the destruction of their nearby homeworld, have also served as planetary defenders of their adoptive home.

In recent events, there have been a growing number of rebellions in many lesser hive cities dotting the coast.  Cult activity worshiping a multi-armed xenos deity has taken many regions of the once-devout planet, and it threatens to destabilize the southern reaches of the continent and delay any meaningful crusade progress if it goes unchecked.  This, coupled with the usual Ork incursions and the darkening of the Astronomican, has put a strain on the local planetary defense forces, and may require intervention by the Astartes who have taken temporary residence on the planet.
